13 Cards Rummy

In a 13-card rummy, each player gets 13 cards equally. 2-6 players can play this game. A deck of 52 cards is chosen for 2 players. Each player tries to make a sequence to win the game before his/her opponent. A few types of this game are given below:

21 Cards Rummy

We can play this game between 2-5 players with 3 decks and 3 printed jokers. Each player gets 21 cards. To win the game player must declare with 3 sequences. At least 2 should be pure and 1 should be impure sequence. Another thing is the lower and upper joker. If in your cards, a cut joker is 6(♣) then the upper joker should be 7(♣) and the lower joker should be 5(♣).

Gin Rummy

This game is ideal for 2 players but 2-4 players can also play this game. Each player gets 10 cards. The points of number should not go above 10. After making a sequence each player tries to have a small number of cards that are not in sequence and he/she will say knock or Gin. The player with the lowest number below the 10 number wins the game.

For example: if a player has [2(), 3(), 4()], [5(♦), J, 7(♦)], [ 9(♦), K(♣)] these cards, we know that cards in first two brackets are pure and impure sequence and in 3rd bracket these cards are making 22 points (9+13). So this player will lose the game. 

To win the game he/she should score lowest (<10) than the other player.

Contract Rummy

In this game, 2-8 players can easily play. 2-3 decks can be used with jokers. It has 7 rounds. Each player gets 10 cards for the first four rounds and 12 cards for the last 3 rounds. Each player has an option to pick the card from the discard stack or from the closed deck to start the game. To win the game you should score minimum points. Scores can be calculated by adding the cards.

Canasta Rummy

A combination of 7 cards is known as a canasta. You can play this game between the 2-4 players. If you are playing between 2 persons, each player will get 15 cards; if you are playing between 4 players, each player will receive 11 cards. Your combination of cards should have:

  • at least 50 points. 
  • Joker = 50 points.
  • ace and 2s = 20 points.
  • 8-king = 10 points.
  • 4-7 cards = 5 points.
  • Black 3 card = 5 points.
  • Red 3 card = 100 points.
  • Natural cards (without joker) = 500 points.
  • Cards with at least one joker = 300 points.

Rummikubh Game

2-4 players can play the tiles game. It consists of tiles and is placed in the center of the table with face down. Each player gets 14 tiles. The main objective of Rummikb is simple and quite easy. Make a set (same numbers of tiles with different colors), and run (consecutive numbers with the same color). Before playing turn, values of set and run should be equal or above 30 [9, k, Q (its value is 34)]. Two jokers are used within the tiles with any color[7, joker, 8, 9]. The rule of this game is to get rid of all these tiles. A player with the lowest value of tiles wins the game.

Dummy rummy is also known as a speed game, and can be played between 2 players. Each player gets 7 cards. The main objective of this game is to make a pure and impure sequence. If a player makes a valid sequence he/she will declare the cards (7 cards) and win the game. 

Rummy 500

Rummy 500 game

Rummy 500 is played between 2-8 players. For 2-4 players only 1 deck is used while for 5-8 players 2 decks of cards are used. Playing with more than 2 players, each player gets 7 cards while playing with 2 players, both players will receive 13 cards. The rule of this game is to make a sequence before the opponent.
